14. Whatever you do, DO NOT starve yourself. Starvation diets not only make you miserable, but they actually slow down your metabolism, making it easier for the body to cling onto fat tissue. Contrary to what the Facebook fitness gurus say, in order to lose weight (and keep it off) you need to eat food.

15. Surround yourself with winners. Losing weight can be a seriously hard endeavor for folks. Who you surround yourself with has a huge impact on your results. Surround yourself with positive and encouraging people, who fully support what you are doing, and genuinely want to see you succeed.

16. Acquire a few kettlebells or dumbbells so you can do resistance training exercises right from your living room. Spend time squatting with the weights, pressing them over your head, picking them up off the floor, and even just holding them and carrying them around your house.

17. Don’t try to be perfect. Perfection is the antithesis of progress. Don’t beat yourself up if you ate 4 slices of pizza on a Friday night, instead of your planned 2.
